Women Win Again: Science Reveals Women Have Better Orgasms Than Men

For decades, men and women have been at war when it comes to sex. It’s been widely debated whether sex is better for men and women, yet no one has ever been able to come up with a definitive answer. We’ve only been able to take the other sex’s word for it. Up until now that is. Researchers at Concordia University in Canada have discovered that women do in fact, have better orgasms than men do, finally putting this debate to rest.

Orgasms. When it comes to male orgasms, experts have a pretty accurate grasp as to how and why they happen. The transfer of sperm is vital to reproduction, which is exactly what happens when a man climaxes. But a female orgasm on the other hand, has left people with many questions but few answers.

Mystery. It’s been a mystery as to why females orgasm because it has nothing to do with reproduction and as most women know, they don’t always happen, especially during vaginal penetration. But researchers at Concordia University have finally decided to tackle the female orgasm and figure out why it happens, and whether or not they’re significantly better than a male’s orgasm.

Different types. Not only did the research discover that a female orgasm is better than a male’s, but they also figured out that a woman can experience an orgasm in more than one way, reports Your Tango. The female orgasm is also much more intense than we could have imagined.

Experience. “It is likely that women have an enormous capacity to experience orgasms of many different types, very different from male orgasm. The subjective experience of it is not necessarily the same for each woman, and can even be different each time a woman has one. Those differences span physiology and psychology,” said the researchers, as reported by Your Tango.

Perspective. The researchers also brought to light the fact that when it comes to the female orgasm, people are looking at it in the complete wrong way, which is why we still know very little about it. As mentioned before, experts are always wondering how a woman’s orgasm fits into the reproduction aspect of sex, which limits the way people are able to comprehend orgasms, reports Your Tango.

Comparisons. “People are constantly comparing a woman’s orgasms to a males, when in fact they aren’t comparable at all. This is probably too simplistic but, I’d say, it’s because we’re still putting a male model of male orgasm onto the female, as if the female is still somehow a vestigial male, as opposed to, I hate to say it, the other way around. Which is really how embryological development goes: mammalians default to female, not male,” said the researchers, as reported by National Post.

Single women. An even more surprising study was done at the University of Turku in Finland that discovered single women are having even better orgasms that women in long-term relationships. This was based on a survey done on over 2,000 women, reports Elite Daily.

Survey. The researchers asked the women, who were all about 25 years old, an array of questions based on their personal and sexual lives from 2006 up to 2013. They found that the most inconsistent thing in a woman’s life was her ability to orgasm, and how often she did it.

On the rise. In just seven years, a woman’s ability to orgasm increased in seven years, and out of all the women surveyed, single women were amongst the ones who could orgasm the most, reports Elite Daily. Unsurprisingly, the lowest was in women who had been in the same relationship for the same amount of time.

Variables. “Female sexual functions varied considerably over seven years and relationship status was of importance when assessing temporal stability and cross-domain effects,” said the researchers, as reported by Elite Daily.

Multiple orgasms. As if being able to orgasm much better than men wasn’t enough, women are also able to orgasm more times in a row than men are. Let’s face it ladies, you’ve all been in that situation where you weren’t quite satisfied the first time and want to go again, but your man needs a “break.”

More orgasms. This “break” is actually known as the refractory period, and while you may be ready to go in just a few minutes, it takes men a little longer to recuperate, says the Daily Mail UK. The downside to this is, men usually orgasm from penetrative sex significantly more often than women do.

Stimulation. “Most women take between 10 to twenty minutes to reach orgasm (usually through direct stimulation of the clitoris rather than intercourse). Around 75 per cent of men always have an orgasm during sex with their partner but only 26 percent of women do,” reports the Daily Mail UK.

Consideration. So with this newfound information, it’s important to take into consideration what sex for your partner is like so that you’ll both enjoy it to it’s fullest extent and neither one of you is being shorted any sort of pleasure.
