Each gender has a different way of showing their love and doing things when they’re intimate. If you’re a fan of listening to popular myths about sex and flirting, men tend to be more aggressive, women more passive. But, there are certain things that one gender tends to do a lot more than others – especially during sex. According to a study that was published in Express, scientists have revealed the one thing that women tend to do way, way more than men. Can you guess what it is?Does this study surprise you at all? Certain stereotypes have persisted for as long as time itself. It’s often said that men have a way greater sexual appetite than women. It’s also been said that women are more likely to lack a libido than their penis-having counterparts. Of course, we all know that a person’s mileage may vary with this.
But, there has been one study that shows that women are way more likely to do one thing than men. And, it’s almost a universal thing among women. If you guessed that it’s moaning, you’re correct! Women are far more likely to moan during a romp than men are – and that’s a fact.
The study was conducted by website IllicitEncounters.com. And it said that a shockingly large 88% of women are louder than their male counterparts when they get down to business. This survey’s admission wasn’t just guys bragging about their ability to make a girl squeal, either…
An abundant 64% of men confirmed that their female partners were noisier. In other words, both men and women were quick to admit that women tend to be the more *ahem* vocal group of the two. Researchers also said that it wasn’t necessarily a bad thing to witness, either…
The study went on to say that most men adore the fact that women are loud in the bedroom. Approximately 70% of all men agreed that they enjoyed it when their partners were louder than they were in the bedroom. Interestingly, only 62% of ladies said they enjoyed it when their man made noise, too.
Researchers aren’t quite sure why. But, they have a feeling it could have to do with the way that each gender is socialized to communicate. Spokesman Christian Grant suggested, “One theory might be that since women fake it more often than men do, perhaps they feel obliged to provide ‘evidence’ that they’re enjoying themselves?”
It’s true that some men do feel shy about making noise in the sack. It’s often considered to be awkward or weird to hear a man making too much noise when he’s going at it with a girl. Moreover, many women admitted that they are often “surprised” to hear a vocal guy in bed.
In another study cited by CNN, women admitted to the many reasons why they would moan. And, before guys decide to have a panic attack, quite a few admitted that they moaned and got noisy when they had an orgasm or as a signal that they are really excited. So, guys, don’t worry about that. You’re probably doing good.
But, there is a caveat to this study that may make guys feel a bit bad. Well, here’s the thing that guys won’t like to hear. Around 66% of women admitted to moaning as a way to get him to cross the finish line a little faster. And, 87% also admitted that they moaned as a way to stroke a partner’s ego.
Sex researchers aren’t sure if moaning is all about stroking a man’s ego or not. What one researcher said is that it wouldn’t be a stupid move for women to make. Kristen Mark explained that because of the fact that media equates pleasure to moaning, “it would be a fairly wise faking strategy to moan since men already tend to associate moaning with orgasm.”
Obviously, there’s also a perk to moaning if you’re looking to coach him a bit. A guy will keep doing what he’s doing if he thinks it’s turning you on and getting you close to climax. This is why many sexologists suggest that women with inexperienced partners use their vocalization to help them figure things out.
At least one study suggested that women who vocalize more may also get more pleasure out of it. So, maybe our minds and bodies are connected? Women might be moaning in order to increase their pleasure and get in the zone, too. Sadly, there’s not much research that can fully tell what’s up with that.
To be fair, women aren’t the only primates that get vocal during sex – and that suggests it may be an evolutionary trait. For example, biologists who studied baboons noted that “vocalizations tend to become more complex when the females are closer to ovulation, and also vary when a female is mating with a higher-ranked male.” Macaques are also known to give a holler too.
So, is male moaning effeminate by design? Not quite. Men may actually be trying to communicate pleasure in the same way that women are – and they may also moan for similar reasons. Moaning can be a majorly awesome tool to use, regardless of your sexual orientation.
On a last note, yes, moaning has been cited as a major turn on by the majority of men. So, don’t feel bad if you’re super duper extra loud. Guys really do like it! That extra noise just means that you’re just a bit hotter in bed than the typical girl is.
